Devotees ask themselves, “What if I fall from the path? Will my fate be worse than if I had never tried at all? Will God punish me for my failure? Will my lot be even worse, perhaps, than that of worldly people who never tried at all?” The scriptures and the saints assure us – no right effort is ever lost. Those who are not able to reach their divine goal in this life are propelled forward in their next life by their good karma. We all, sooner or later, will find God, for He is a God, not of vengeance and wrath, but of love.
