Swami Sri Yukteswar’s
Birth Anniversary Meditation
Sunday, 10 May, 5:00 - 6:30 pm (In-Person & Online)
Sri Yukteswar was born on May 10, 1855, in Serampore, India, to a wealthy businessman. He met Babaji, the guru of Lahiri Mahasaya, in 1894. Babaji told him that one day he would send Sri Yukteswar a disciple who would share the teachings of yoga in the West. This disciple turned out to be our beloved Guru Paramhansa Yogananda. Here’s how Yogananda described Sri Yukteswar:
He fitted the Vedic definition of a man of God. ‘Softer than the flower where kindness is concerned, stronger than thunder, where principles are at stake.’ He taught by the sublimity of example alone the true measure of a man.
