The goal of human life is to seek perfection, not outwardly, but by realizing our oneness with God and thereby, with all life. True perfection is attained when we can love everyone equally, because we clearly see that the same divinity that resides in us also resides in them. See whatever comes to you unasked for as a manifestation of His will. Be grateful also for the pains you experience, for they are healing strokes of His love. Achieve inner perfection by seeking God in meditation, and then share His presence with all. What higher message could God have given to humanity?
