Mahashivratri Kirtan & Celebrations
Sunday, 15 February, 7:00 - 9:30 pm (In-Person & Online)
Many think of Shiva as the Destroyer. But he is supremely compassionate because the only thing he wants to destroy is our ignorance and delusion. Swami Kriyananda writes, “Shiva’s work on earth is to remind us that, out of God, nothing lasts – that life itself is short compared to eternity, even if we should live a hundred years.”
While Shivratri occurs every month on the 14th day of the lunar month, we get to celebrate Mahashivratri only once a year, in the month of Falgun. It is the darkest night of the year, an auspicious time to tune in to the positive qualities of Shiva, especially the power to purify ourselves in body, mind, and spirit.
Join us for a special evening of transformation and inner purification through chanting, meditation, stories, mantras, and reflection.
