“In the Temple of Silence” –
Sunday Morning Silent Retreat (In-Person & Online)
Sunday, 20 October, 9:00 – 11:00 am
It’s often difficult to hear God’s whispers in the hubbub of daily life and the nervousness of an average day. It’s important to take out time to be with God in silence. This way, we can begin to train the mind to listen for His whispers.
Doing this in a group makes it easier as we all support each other in our quest for reaching that state of awakened silence. Our guru, Paramhansa Yogananda says, Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group, by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of spiritual magnetism.”
The energy of the group is affected by the consciousness of each individual present, so your devotion and focused concentration can uplift everyone – even as the group can deepen your experience.
So join us on Sunday for a silent retreat. Here is the flow for the day.
- 9:00 am: Energisation Exercises
- 9:20 am: Chanting
- 9:30 am: Doors will close. No entry into the temple thereafter.
- 9:35 am: Meditation (including recording /reading)
- 11:00 am: Prayers (Remain in silence for 10 minutes at the conclusion of retreat)
The devotee must take time occasionally to be alone with God. Only as his awareness deepens of God’s silent inner presence can the waves of his mental and emotional restlessness be stilled, and the boat of his life be steered serenely to the divine shores.Swami Kriyananda
